Red Alert giving props to all the blessing DJ's, Grandmaster Flowers, Frankie D (From Marcy), Von K, Plummer, DJ Divine, Infinity Machine, The Disco Twins, Sesame, DJ Smalls (little Hollywood), The Together Brothers, Luvbug Starski, DJ Hollywood, Pete DJ Jones, Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaataa, Grandwizard Theodore, Disco King Mario.

Gotta always give props to Red Alert for always mentioning my man DJ FRANKIE D (from Marcy Projects) when he speaks of the original DJ's that was holding it down. A lot of people don't always mention the BROOKLYN and Queens DJ's for that matter.. but BROOKLYN and QUEENS was holding it down with the DJs and monster soundsystems like the Disco Twins with their infamous Bertha speakers! and my FRANKIE D from Marcy with the monster BASS!

Vanessa Williams Davy DMX "L-ROCK THE RIGHT MIX"

Vanessa Williams "The Right Stuff" mixed with Davy DMX One for the treble. I remember being in the Empire Roller Rink in Brooklyn back when I first heard Davy Dmx's one for the treble.. then weeks later I started to hear it on the radio. Quick side story on the Empire Roller Skating Rink in Brooklyn... all the names you read about in those FEDS magazines and DonDiva.. or seen a documentary on their life.. if they was from Brooklyn! they was up in the empire.. that spot in it's hey day was something to see circa 1983-84.

L-ROCK 1994 MIXTAPE THROWBACK

This is how we use to do it on the tapes back in the days.. no protools, no tempo lock, no auto BPM match, none of that.. just two vinyl records, two turntables, mixer, microphone, and a cassette tape.

IN MEMORY OF THE CHIEFROCKER STARCHILD

Starchild & Kid Capri live.. back in the day at the National Black Theater. A lot of cats don't know what it means to kick flava on the MIC! some cats just get on the mic and talk.. it ain't about talking on the MIC.. it's about kicking FLAVA! only a few DJ's know how to kick flava! and Starchild was one of the originators, along with the original DJ Hollywood, the World Famous Brucie, LuvBug Starski, and a host of others.

Mark "Chiefrocker Starchild" Ward

All Original 45s

L-ROCK "Friday Side" (2001 or 2002) straight original 45s, soulful raregrooves. I was just in one of those soulful moods and this set from the early 00's is the result. Everybody is breaking out the 45s these days... only a few cats was really keeping that tradition alive.

This was straight 45s, Two turntables.

The Chris Tucker sample "And you know this man"
Intro and additional drops were recorded/played back with SOUNDFORGE.

Native Instruments MASCHINE + VINYL = A GOOD COMBINATION! (STAY TUNED)

Do you remember the time?

Boatride party we did with Meli'sa Morgan... back in 1998 on the Circle Line, NYC.
Mel'sa performed her smash hits... the slow jam classic "Do Me Baby" and the all time
(everybody's favorite party joint.. i hear some of ya'll singing it now!) "Fool's Paradise" live.

One of those old after hours spots we was rocking in Harlem, back in the summer of 1994.

One of our parties at the infamous MARC BALLROOM down by 14th Street Union Square.
A real throwback to 1993, TONY TUNE's DANCE TRAXX USA (CHANNEL 25),
Comedian C.P. LACY (DefJam Comedy/Apollo Comedy Hour)

One of the parties at the MASONIC TEMPLE on Bushwick & Gates in Brooklyn. Now if you party in BROOKLYN you know the parties at the Masonic Temple on Bushwick & Gates were legendary.

Remember BEEPERS? now you know that's a throwback! I remember those days!
